Did you ever run into an issue flying without ID for your child?

Hi. According to the research I've read, IDs aren't required by TSA for children traveling with a parent or guardian domestically and it seems most major airlines follow the same policy. Some suggest having some form of ID like a school ID or copy of birth certificate though. But I'm curious if this holds true in the real world.

Did you ever run into any problems flying with your kids who didn't have any ID? At what age did your child get their first ID? It seems like a pita to get a passport or a REAL ID at the DMV if one doesn't have plans to travel internationally any time soon.

Well, it never happened to me. But an interesting situation to ponder on.
