Looking for some advice... My employer's retirement plan offers a fixed account investment option that guarantees a 4% return. There are no fees with the account so it's a true 4% return. My retirement is about 4-5 years away and I'd like to reduce my stock risk and increase my fixed/bond position. I'm not going to draw from these funds for 10-15 years, so I don't want to get too conservative. I'd like to keep at least 40% in stocks.
With a 4% guarantee, how much, if any, would you invest in bonds? What percentage would you invest in stocks/bonds/fixed?
