Is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) A Hypocrite For Being Rich And Dating A White Guy?

Is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) A Hypocrite?

Many people are starting to wondering is AOC a hypocrite?

If she's all for diversity, why is she dating a white guy? If AOC is a Democratic Socialist, how could she attend Boston University, a private school that costs more than $70,000 a year to attend today?

AOC even went to the Met Gala, which costs $30,000 a ticket. Surely, a Democratic Socialist who wants to tax the rich shouldn't be hobnobbing with the very rich and powerful she criticizes right?

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, or AOC for short, is Congresswoman for New York's 14th Congressional District. She was born on October 13, 1989 and is the youngest person to ever to join congress.

AOC is also the second most popular politician on social media, second only to Donald Trump, former President of the United States.

Do as I say and not what I do is very common in politics. Pandering for votes to gain and retain power is the main goal of politicians.

Let's have an honest discussion of whether AOC is a hypocrite or not based on two things: her wealth and her personal relationship.

AOC As A Hypocrite In Wealth

AOC is a self-proclaimed Democratic Socialist who likes to tell everyone she bartended for a living before becoming a congresswoman.

However, before she was a bartender, she went to Boston University, one of the most expensive private universities in the country. See below the 2020/2021 academic year tuition and expenses to attend Boston University.

Paying $74,712 a year to attend college in today's dollars makes AOC sound like a hypocrite in terms of wealth. With the median household income of roughly $68,000 in 2021, how does a Democratic Socialist afford to pay so much to attend college? AOC has never once mentioned she received a scholarship or grants to attend BU.

Is AOC a hypocrite for attending Boston university?

If AOC really a Democratic Socialist, she would have attended community college or a cheap state school. Perhaps she wouldn't have even attend college like the majority of Americans.

Instead, not only does AOC attend an extremely expensive college, she doesn't even attend one of the top 25 universities in the country. Seriously, why would you spend $77,000 a year to go to Boston University if you could spend less attend higher ranked Boston College, MIT, or Harvard University?

The answer is pretty straight forward. She wasn't smart enough to get into a higher ranked school, but she was wealthy enough to attend one. Below are the top ranked universities in America. Boston University is generously ranked 50th.

If you claim to be for the poor and working class, yet go to an expensive private university the annual costs more than what the people she claims to represents makes, that seems pretty hypocritical to me.

AOC will also likely be a multi-million within 10 years given her six figure salary, speaking fees, and likely book deals. There is no doubt in my mind that by age 38, she will be a millionaire. She is 31 years old now.

AOC As A Hypocrite In Race

One of the most disappointing things about AOC is how she frequently uses race to create division in this country. She is often heard putting down white people and creating an “us vs. them” dialogue when we are all Americans.

Yes, we know that white people have more privilege, money, and power in America since Europeans were the first to conquer this country. But I think we should have less race rhetoric and more solutions based rhetoric instead.

Here's one of her latest examples of using race to create division in this country.

AOC Is A Hypocrite because she is dating a white guy

What she says is understandable. I think we all get it. But if you are then dating a white guy named Riley Roberts, living with him, catering to him, and wanting to start a family with him, are you not being a little hypocritical? Most would say yes that AOC is a hypocrite when it comes to race.

AOC As A Hypocrite

AOC Is A Hypocrite On Her Green Deal

Despite touting a Green New Deal, AOC spent thousands of dollars on ride-share apps.

According to election filings, her campaign spent $29,365.70 on car services and $8,335.41 on subway fares, despite her Queens headquarters being just a one-minute walk from the subway.

On Saturday night, Ocasio-Cortez hit back at all those who criticized her, claiming she is just ‘living in the world'.

“I also fly and use A/C,' she tweeted to her more than three million followers. Living in the world as it is isn't an argument against working towards a better future. The Green New Deal is about putting a LOT of people to work in developing new technologies, building new infrastructure, and getting us to 100% renewable energy.”

Fair enough.

Don't Listen To Politicians

Perhaps you're now convinced AOC is a hypocrite. Going to the Met Gala in NYC, where each ticket costs $30,000 a year seems excessive for a Democratic Socialist. Or maybe you still don't think AOC is a hypocrite for living it up while attacking the very people whose lifestyles she is emulating.

But one thing is for sure. Politicians are egomaniacs. They say they want to change the world for the better, but really, they are mostly a bunch of privileged, hypocritical people who mostly want fame, money, and power for themselves.

The examples of corrupt politicians is endless in America and around the world. Instead of listening to politicians, please learn to think for yourself!

Nobody cares about your life and your money than you. Always be wary of what a politician is trying to convince you to do. Chances are high they are doing the exact opposite behind closed doors.
