About Sam Dogen, Financial Samurai
I worked in investment banking for 13 years after getting my undergraduate degree from The College of William & Mary. While working grueling 60-80 hour weeks, I finished my MBA part-time at UC Berkeley.
At the age of 34, I left Corporate America for good in order to live more freely. At the time, I had a net worth of $3 million and had passive investment income of roughly $80,000. Today, my net worth is in the multiple eight figures and my investments generate roughly $350,000 a year in passive income.
Financial Samurai is one part story telling, another part sharing all the insights I've uncovered along the way to financial freedom. My main areas of expertise are in real estate, stocks, early retirement, financial planning, severance negotiations and building sustainable passive income streams. I only write based on first-hand experience because money is too important to be left up to pontification.
